Dr. Dre must have been the happiest person in the world when he saw the already legendary postgame interview with Richard Sherman after Sunday’s Seahawks win over the San Francisco 49’ers. Dr. Dre? Why him, you ask? Watch this:

This commercial was uploaded two days ago. That’s roughly 24 hours after Erin Andrews asked Richard Sherman to walk her through the last play of the game. In case you, like me, can’t get enough of it, here’s the clip one more time:

That’s the best 16-second-interview of all time. Shit, it may be the best interview of all time, period. But when I stumbled upon the Beats commercial, a little of that enthusiasm started to fade. That slick Beats by Dre clip must have been recorded before Sherman ended Kaepernick’s dream of winning the Superbowl this year. This seems like a set-up. You’re telling me that only one day after the whole internet blows up about Richard Sherman, Beats by Dre releases a commercial around him, titled Hear What You Wanna Hear and that’s just a lucky coincidence for the man that brought you N.W.A., Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar? I don’t buy it. I think it was Sherman, actor who spoke to Erin Andrews, not Richard Sherman, BEST CORNER IN THE GAME. And you know what? I don’t care. I just see it as it is: a great marketing plan. Now I wonder what Sherman would have said had he NOT tipped that pass.
